What Foxerly Partition Manager does

When Foxerly Partition Manager helps
Partitions are usually set once, when a PC is new, and then stay the same long after your needs have changed.

Why Windows will not extend drive C
Windows Disk Management can only extend a partition into unallocated space that sits directly to its right on the disk. On most PCs drive C is followed by a recovery partition or by drive D, so the Extend Volume option stays greyed out, even when there is plenty of free space elsewhere.
Foxerly Partition Manager can move the partitions that are in the way, or take space directly from the neighboring partition, so the free space ends up next to drive C and can be added to it. Your files on every partition stay where they are.
Resizing is safe when it is done carefully, but it does move data around. Back up anything important first, and keep a laptop plugged in while changes are applied, because a power cut in the middle of an operation is the one thing that can cause damage.

Can I extend drive C without losing data?
Yes. Foxerly Partition Manager takes free space from another partition or unallocated space and adds it to C. Your files and Windows stay as they are.
Why is Extend Volume greyed out in Disk Management?
Windows can only extend into unallocated space directly after the partition. If a recovery partition or drive D is in the way, the option is unavailable. Foxerly Partition Manager can work around that.
Is resizing partitions safe?
Yes, when done properly. Every change is previewed before it is applied. As with any disk operation, back up important files first and keep laptops plugged in.
What is the difference between MBR and GPT?
They are two ways of organizing a disk. GPT is the modern standard needed for UEFI and Secure Boot, which Windows 11 requires. MBR is the older style.
Can I merge two partitions and keep the files on both?
Yes. The files from the partition you merge in are kept in a folder on the combined partition.
Does it work on external drives and SSDs?
Yes. It works on internal and external HDDs and SSDs, USB drives and memory cards.
